Mothercare

Hertfordshire

Mothercare wants to be / become the world's largest retail company for mother and child. From birth up to approx. 8 years.

The company opened its first store in Surrey in 1961. Initially, the focus was on prams, pushchairs, maternity supplies and maternity clothes. The range has gradually expanded to clothing for children up to, initially 5, later 8 years.

In the late 1970s, Mothercare took over the stroller manufacturer 'Harris'. It is unknown to us whether they have also marketed these prams themselves,
They may have taken over even more manufacturers, including Restmor, as a pram is known that is very similar to the Marmet Imperial that was marketed by Restmor. It is also possible that Restmor made the pram and Mothercare put its name on it.
